WE BELIEVE THAT OPENING YOUR HEART AND HOME TO A RESCUE DOG IS ONE OF LIFE'S MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCES.
It's an unfortunate misconception that rescue dogs are “broken,” or that there is something wrong with them. On the contrary, our Tail Waggers are some of the most charming, loving and grateful dogs you will ever be lucky enough to meet!
All of our adult Tail Waggers have been:
• Temperament tested
• Examined by a licensed veterinarian
• Vaccinated
• Spayed/neutered
• Micro-chipped
At the time of their adoption, our Tail Wagger puppies will have been:

We do not spay or neuter our puppies before 6 months, but will allow them to be adopted before then for bonding, etc. If they are not S/N at the time of adoption, we will work with our new Tail Wagger family to schedule their S/N appointment with ample notice given. If there are any remaining needed vaccines at the time of adoption, this will be the responsibility of the new Tail Wagger family. We require proof of these vaccines within 72 hours.
At the time of adoption, each Tail Wagger is eligible for 30-days of free coverage with Pet First pet insurance.
At SCTW, we are also proud of our efforts to help the underdogs. They are the dogs that don’t have be the best chance of finding forever homes. Some of our Tail Waggers are blind, deaf, disabled – but don’t tell them that! As far as they are concerned, they are just regular dogs, with a lot of life to live, and a lot of love to give – now they just need a forever family like yours to call their own.
We rescue amazing dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities. It is our priority to help you find a Tail Wagger that fits you, your home and your lifestyle. We encourage everyone to look at the individual personality of each dog, and not breed-specific characteristics since they are often not accurate.
We are happy to work with first time dog owners, families with young children, and elderly and/or disabled individuals. We believe there is a great match for anyone who deserves to bring a furry family member home, to love and care for them to the end.

We will contact you within 72 hours to schedule a preliminary phone-screening to discuss what type of Tail Wagger you are looking to add to your family.

We will schedule a “Meet & Greet” to ensure we have a perfect match for your family, and will discuss what the optimal transition will look like for you and our Tail Wagger.

Once a match has been made, we will come to your home for a "Home Check"where we will verify where our Tail Wagger will sleep, play, eat, etc. and that the environment is safe overall.

When the perfect match is made, we will sit down to complete and sign our
adoption contract packet. We ask for a $350.00 donation. (Your donation is fully tax-deductible and helps offset our veterinary costs, feeding, foster home expenses, supplies and general overhead.)

Now that steps one through five are complete, you are now a part of the Tail Wagger family and we will make sure to keep in touch in order to be a support system for the entire family!
If things change and you can no longer care for your dog, we will always take them back with open arms. Our motto is “Once a Tail Wagger, ALWAYS a Tail Wagger!”
